Crown thinning is a process in which select branches are removed to reduce the overall density of the tree. The effect of using this technique enables for more light to be passed through the tree than before. Thinning also helps to decrease the wind resistance and overall weight of the tree.
Crown lifting is the process in which selected branches are removed from the tree. The effect is to help raise the canopy of the tree. Doing so allows for an increase in light being transported to the tree and the surrounding areas.
Crown reduction is a specified physical reduction of the tree. Both height and the spread of the tree can be reduced. Also included in the reduction service is shortening of lateral branches, reshaping and balancing the tree’s crown. The reduction of the crown can help reduce light loss and shading in a particular area.
